George anders

George Anders is an author, journalist and public speaker. His career includes more than a dozen years at The Wall Street Journal as a top feature writer, as well as a six-year stint as part of the leadership team at LinkedIn News. He also is the author of five business books, including the Wall Street classic Merchants of Debt and The New York Times bestseller Perfect Enough.

George shared in the Pulitzer Prize for national reporting in 1997. Other notable work includes a 2019 profile of Army veteran Ritchie Thomas that won first place in the San Francisco Press Club’s feature-writing category. He is a five-time recipient of the “Top Writer” award from Quora, the leading online question-and-answer site.

In 2018, George was the commencement speaker for Washington & Jefferson College, where he spoke about “How to Be Your Own Mentor.” Other speaking engagements have brought him to a wide range of U.S. college campuses and corporate settings, as well as business conferences in England, Ireland and South Africa.

Off hours, George is a slow but stubborn hiker. Favorite adventures include scaling Mt. Fuji, Mt. Whitney and South Africa’s Table Mountain, as well as traversing the Grand Canyon. He lives in northern California with his wife, Betsy Corcoran, the former CEO of EdSurge.
